ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical effect of heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with cupping therapy on patients with cervical spondylosis. MethodsA total of 88 patients with cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 44 cases in each group. The control group was treated with cupping therapy, on the basis of which the observation group was treated with heat-sensitive moxibustion. Both groups were continuously treated for 10 days. The clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared, as well as the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome score, pain degree (VAS score), the impact of neck pain on quality of life (Northwick Park neck pain questionnaire score), and the cervical vertebra function (clinical assessment scale score for cervical spondylosis) before and after treatment, and the occurrence of adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups. ResultsAfter treatment, the total effective rate, each dimension score and total score of the clinical assessment scale for cervical spondylosis in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the TCM syndrome score, VAS score and Northwick Park neck pain questionnaire score were lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). No adverse reactions occurred during treatment in either group. ConclusionHeat-sensitive moxibustion combined with cupping therapy has a definite effect in the treatment of cervical spondylosis, which can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and signs of patients, relieve pain, improve cervical vertebra function, with fewer adverse reactions and high safety, and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
