ObjectiveTo explore the clinical effect of arthroscopic calcification lesion cleaning in the treatment of calcified supraspinatus muscle tendinitis. MethodsClinical data of 48 patients with calcified supraspinatus muscle tendinitis were analyzed retrospectively, including 24 patients undergoing open surgery as control group, and 24 patients undergoing arthroscopic calcification lesion cleaning during the same period as the observation group. The abduction, flexion, function and pain degree of shoulder joint before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. ResultsThree, six and twelve months after treatment, the abduction, flexion, Constant-Murley score of shoulder joint significantly increased, whereas the VAS score significantly decreased in both groups, with the changes in the observation group more obvious (all P＜0.05). ConclusionArthroscopic calcification lesion cleaning can prominently improve the shoulder joint function of patients with calcified supraspinatus muscle tendinitis, with less pain, implying its practical clinical significance.
