ObjectiveTo explore the risk factors of catheter-related infection outside hospital in gynecologic tumor patients with indwelling PICC. MethodsData of 421 gynecologic tumor patients with indwelling PICC in our department were collected. The related factors of catheter-related infection outside hospital were analyzed. Then Logistic regression analysis was performed. ResultsA total of 48 patients suffered from catheter-related infection outside hospital, and the total infection rate was 11.4%. The univariate analysis showed that catheter-related infection outside hospital was related to the education level, place of residence, season, duration for indwelling catheter, frequency and location of dressing change, movement of catheter and complication of basic diseases(all P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed low education level, spring, indwelling catheter for a long time, catheter movement and complication of basic diseases were the independent risk factors of catheter-related infection outside hospital in gynecologic tumor patients with indwelling PICC. ConclusionIt is common that gynecologic tumor patients with indwelling PICC suffer from catheter-related infection outside hospital. And it is associated with multiple factors. Related measures should be performed to reduce the infection.
