【Abstract】 ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical efficacy of endoscopic implantation with sustainedrelease particle (5fluorouracil) for chemotherapy of advanced gastrointestinal tumors. MethodsThirty patients with advanced gastrointestinal tumors were enrolled. Endoscopic intensive implantation with sustainedrelease particle for chemotherapy was conducted in the tumor nodules and infiltration. The tumor size, clinical symptoms , liver and kidney function, and complete blood count before the treatment were compared with those indices after treatment. ResultsOf 30 patients after treatment, complete remission was not observed in any cases, partial remission in 12 cases, stable in 13 cases and progress in 5 cases. The effective rate was 83.33%(25/30). No complications including severe bleeding and perforation occurred. Postoperative melena was only found in 1 case. After treatment, the pain of patients were relieved obviously, and the remission rate was 77.27% (17/22). There were no significant differences between liver and kidney function, and complete blood count before and after treatment. ConclusionEndoscopic implantation with sustainedrelease particle for chemotherapy is a new approach for advanced gastrointestinal tumors, can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients, can elevate the local control rate of the tumor, alleviates the pain of patients, and is safe and reliable. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
