【Abstract】 ObjectiveTo explore the effect of nasal endoscopic surgery on the olfactory function and the quality of life in the patients with sinusitis and nasal polyps. MethodsEightyfive patients with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps received nasal endoscopic surgery.The olfactory function, the quality of life and clinical efficacy were evaluated using olfactory function score, VAS and SNOT score before operation, at 4 weeks and 12 weeks after operation. ResultsThe olfactory function score, VAS and SNOT score of the patients at 4 weeks and 12 weeks after operation were significantly improved compared with the scores before operation（P＜0.05）. The olfactory function score, VAS and SNOT score at 12 weeks after operation were significantly improved compared with the scores at 4 weeks after operation（P＜0.05）.At 4 weeks after operation, cure was observed in 37 cases, improvement in 33 cases and invalid in 15 cases, and the total effective rate was 82.35%. At 12 week after operation, cure was observed in 56 cases, improvement in 26 cases and invalid in 3 cases, the total effective rate was 96.47%.There was significant difference in the efficacy between the two time points（P＜0.05）. ConclusionNasal endoscopic surgery can significantly improve the olfactory function and the quality of life of the patients with sinusitis and nasal polyps, and can obtain a satisfied efficacy. This approach is worthy of promotion and application.
