Objective To investigate the clinical effect of silver needle combined with traction and chiropractic adjustment curve method in the treatment of mixed cervical spondylosis. Methods Fifty patients with mixed cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into control group and treatment group, with 25 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with silver needle combined with traction and chiropractic adjustment curve method, while the control group was treated with conventional therapy (massage, sitting traction, etc.). Both groups were treated for 14 days. The pain visual analogue scale (VAS) score, neck disability index (NDI) score, clinical efficacy and recurrence were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in VAS score and NDI score between the two groups (all P>0.05). After treatment, the VAS score and NDI score of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences (all P<0.05). The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The recurrence rate was 4.0% (1/25) in the treatment group and 20.00% (5/25) in the control group, with no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion Compared with conventional massage and sitting traction, the silver needle combined with traction and chiropractic adjustment curve method has a more significant effect in treating patients with mixed cervical spondylosis, which can better relieve patients′ pain and improve vertebral curvature, and the overall clinical effect is better.
