Objective To exploare the value of transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation in the treatment of refractory glaucoma. Methods Using transscleral semiconductor diode laser cyclophtotocoagulation( energy 1. 5 - 2. 0W,time 1s,range 180 - 360°,count 12 - 30) to treat 53 eyes with refractory glaucomea. Results Follow-up was 13 - 21 months. IOP decreased from 48. 7 ± 8. 5mmHg ( 33. 2 - 64. 9mmHg) of pretreatment to 19. 3 ± 7. 6mmHg( 6. 8 - 32. 7mmHg) of post-treatment,and there was significant reduction in mean IOP( P < 0. 01) . IOP fell more than 30% in 41 cases. The success rate of surgery was 77. 3%,and eye pain relief rate was 92. 5%. Uveitis and hyphema were the major complications. Conclusion Transscleral semiconductor diode laser cyclophotocoagulation is an efficient, safe and repeatable treatment for refractory glaucoma with less complication.
