Objective To discuss the therapeutic efficacy of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization ( TACE) via a coaxial microcatheter for primary hepatocellular carcinoma( HCC) . Methods 128 patients of conventional group adopted ordinary catheter in super selective embolotherapy, while 53 patients of coaxial micrcocatheter group adopted 3F coaxial microcatheter, including liver segmental embolization in 31 cases and liver subsegmental embolization in 20 cases. Results No complication dued to misembolization occurred in coaxial micrcocatheter group, with slight liver functional damage, accompanied with obvious therapeutic effect advantage over the conventional group. Conclusion Using microcatheter can enhance success rate of intubation and therapeutic effect, meanwhile reduce complication, with less liver function damage in the treatment of primary HCC.
